- stuckkeys 5y agoInteresting. Can you talk a bit about the technology that is uses to process the data?
- nmb-se 5y agoThanks for asking! Users create asymmetric keys in the browser (using the Web Crypto API that is implemented in browsers). We use 4096 bit RSA asymmetric encryption. The key pair is encrypted by the client before being stored on the server. On a users upload page, the public key is used to encrypt the data client side, before upload. A user who has received data then downloads the encrypted files, they are automatically decrypted in the browser using his/her private key and stored locally. As all cryptographic operations are carried out client side, only the user who is the recipient can access the data. This was a very brief description - let me know if you want more details!
