The evolution of the surgical mask (1997)
- wrp 5y agoMost articles on surgical masks cite Spooner[1] and sometimes Rockwood[2] for historical background, but this lesser known article by Belkin gives a better overview. [1] https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/5333967/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/5333967/ [2] https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14438122/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14438122/ By the way, in the literature on surgical masks, I was surprised by the total absence of references to research in France and the USSR. I would appreciate if anyone could point to surveys of mask research in those countries (in French or Russian are fine).
