Once you start catalogizing how you are formed and shaped by others (not an island unto yourself) you would not want to use any model of reality where the focus is not on the rest of us and our shared evolutionary history. However our brain actually uses that model of reality where you are the important one, because everything is behind or in front of you, above you or bellow you, and your thoughts are instantly available to you, but not the thoughts of other people. And you kind of feel independent from them, when actually you are very interconnected, there is no telling where the rest of us ends and where you start, and there is scarcely any wiggle room for originality when it comes to individual behavior.
