The dedication of the emulation communities never fails to astound me, from the 8 bit stuff, to sparc and even the ibm mainframe. You can curate your very own museum with very little effort. I have solaris, amiga, windows NT, mac OSX and microbee emulators I dabble with and while its not the same as owning working hardware, you can still experience the software. A linux based machine has become a kind of universal computer for me. If you can get a copy of the software you want, there is little stopping you from running anything from 1975 or so onwards aside from the supermini stuff on forgotten machines like a honeywell DPS. Quite incredible really.
