Meta discussion about abstaining from the poll:
I just loaded this submission because I am very interested in the results. I have not interviewed in ages, and I want to know what the trend is, but I do not have a meaningful opinion. I have to make a vote one way or another in order to see the results though.
This means I will most likely vote “depends” and not explain it in order to see the results as they develop. I do not want to do this.
Adding an option to abstain would help a lot here, and I suspect this applies to many if not most polls on HN. The number of abstentions should of course appear in the results.
- TheSpiceIsLife 5y agoThe points for each option are visible to me in multiple browsers on my phone. Do you not see them?
- filoeleven 5y agoNo, I am on iOS and all I see are the options. I didn’t vote in order to refrain from polluting the poll. Maybe when it’s closed I can see the results.
- TheSpiceIsLife 5y agoHmmm. Can see on both my iPhone 7 in both Safari and Firefox, and my Ulefone Power Amor 13 in Edge abs Firefox.
- filoeleven 5y agoI just looked again now and the totals show up! They did not when I made the post. It’s not closed; I could still vote if I wanted to (I won’t, see upthread). I don’t know who to thank other than ‘dang, so thanks ‘dang.
