Someone should ask Spectra Logic folks for their numbers :-)
(Spectra Logic's tape libraries run FreeBSD too.)
- monocasa 5y agoSpectraLogic's code isn't in the data plane, you hook up to the drives directly, and the drives can forward changer requests to the internals of the library. So it's however fast the drives are (which are all third party). Also last I checked freebsd was used for their disk product, not tape.
