What about a dual CPU Mac Pro?
Edit: thinking about this for a few more seconds, I realise this is a completely separate discussion, but I was just trying to think how Apple could accomplish the Quad branding even if internally its separate CPUs.
- marcan_42 5y agoHow would you connect the CPUs together then? There's no mechanism for that. You need a bus, IRQ routing, cache coherency, and more. Those features are there in the Max with the d2d interconnect, for up to exactly 2 dies.
