Bored of the limited number of things I know how to cook well, I tried one called Dinnerly for a few months. I eventually gave up on it because even at their smallest plan, they sometimes sent more food than I, living by myself, could eat for dinner, and a few times even sent a new box before I even started cooking anything they had sent from last month's box. (Fortunately you can skip a box any week and not have to pay, but you have to remember to go into the site and do that…) Also, sometimes the recipes still required some ingredient I rarely had on had otherwise, like ketchup or milk, so I still had to go to the grocery store to get those - plus the things I still had to get to make breakfasts anyway. And yes, it wasn't very cost-efficient. In the end I decided it wasn't a good fit for me and gave up on it and went back to cooking my things, though I did learn a few things along the way (couscous is great, who knew?).
I'm sure they work great for others, though.
