This was obvious in the time when people that had the most rationale argument typically made decisions on how things should be. Now we live in a time where people who make the most money make the decisions on how things should be.

Outside of a few brief moments in history where sanity broke out, this is usually not the case. > Now we live in a time where people who make the most money make the decisions on how things should be. This is the default. Substitute "have the most wealth" for "make the most money" and it's about perfect.
