Especially "best [product] in [year]" articles and lists, they somehow always are about the current year, even in early January, and even if they are only about outdated things..
The crap dirty tricks SEO content does seem to work quite well atm. It's probably pretty hard to determine whether something is relevant or not.
- malka 5y agoI am slowly starting to consider that on the internet NOTHING is relevant, and EVERYTHING is manipulated.
- codeptualize 5y agoYou are not wrong... Getting attention matters, it's lucrative
- shime 5y agoSome essays stand the test of time, though. Not everything is irrelevant, but I'd say 99% is. The bar for publishing is very very low.
- emsign 5y agoI've definitely seen sites simply showing the current date at a place where you'd normally expect the article's original publishing date.
