Does anyone have a good idea of how the switch to PoS will affect gas fees?
- waffle_maniac 5y agoIt won’t effect them much. L2 solutions will make a bigger impact.
- meowkit 5y agoFrom my understanding, the block rate should increase slightly, reducing fees very slightly. Any fee reductions will likely be eaten up by activity. Lower gas fees will come some scaling changes, not consensus changes. Layer 2 and sharding.
- chrisco255 5y agoRollups and sharding are aimed at reducing gas fees. Rollups are already live, with Arbitrum, Optimism, StarkNet, and zkSync being some of the biggest ones.
