- DocTomoe 5y agoI hate to break it to you, but the Bay Area in the 1960s was not exactly a national park [1], no matter what biopics about early Silicon Valley and Summer-of-Love-documentaries wants you to believe. Also, people tend to go where they see an improvement of life conditions. For some places on earth, that means a flat of your own, running water, basic sanitation and the theoretical availability of romantic partners outside of more traditional modes of couple-making.
