As an SRE I find that MacOS for me strikes a good balance between being unix-y enough but also reliable to the degree that it doesn't require me to spend time debugging why the bluetooth fails or why the VPN stopped working after I ran apt-get update. I spent the last 6 years on various linux laptops (even a system76 one), but unfortunately I couldn't get the same polished experience as with a macbook.
