Chinese scientists hail success of new hypersonic engine. Some didn't think work
- azalemeth 5y agoI think it's relevant to say that the South China Morning Post is far from independent in these matters. The process described is, I believe, related to that used for the production of high pressure core turbine blades in high performance jet engines, and it's good but perhaps arguably unsurprising that it works for hypersonic applications -- all of these applications, be they passenger jet or doomsday missile, are a question of material science and limiting pressures, temperatures, and strain rates.
