I would gladly pay something which aligns with why I started using this in the first place - an easy way to keep my family members connected. I wish they had an inexpensive 'family' or 'personal' plan instead of everything focused on business. But it's been obvious for awhile now - the old 'do no evil' Google is long gone. Long live profits and ads and screw everything else.

I don't think this change is remotely related to the "do no evil" bit, but I do agree it sucks.

Google One is inexpensive, but if you have your own domain, in Google's world you cannot be anything but a business and therefore cannot get anything other than business plans.
