It depends on your product. Do you have enough resources to build it & market it by yourself, then time is more important. Or are you going to need some help, perhaps even outsource some work? Need powerful servers or hardware? Then extra money would be helpful. One of my friend is working on a startup on the side. He has climbed the ladder in his day job and have enough extra money to built a team of developers to work on his ideas. Developers are overseas in a different timezone which also help him keep day job and startup separate.
