My biggest problem with SaaS is how much control it gives a corporation over a user. They have control over you're experience via unnecessary UI refreshes. They have control over what version you're allowed to use. They have control of your data via surveillance of your devices. They have control over your files via file formats which can become inaccessible unless you continue to subscribe. And they control how much you should be taxed for all of the above. I'd be more accepting of SaaS if I could regain at least some of that control, which is only available in non-SaaS software.
