I'm not sure what Tesla would use this for but the sound in my Model Y is amazing; sometimes scary. What I mean is that I'm hearing parts of the music that I have never heard before and it kinda scares me while driving. I'm listening to music that I've listened to for 40 years (classic rock, heavy metal, etc.) so I know it pretty well. Every once in a while I'll hear a tambourine or guitar coming from the rear seat that I've never heard before and my mind thinks that someone is behind me or that I've run over something in the road. It's really weird.
So, if Tesla decides to move into audio equipment, it will probably be pretty interesting. Regardless, this is probably just them filing a patent for existing sound equipment in their cars (speakers, EQ algorithms, etc.)
