One year I was given a simple home aquarium to keep alive and healthy. I tried using reason, even bought a plecostomus to fight (eat) the algae. It was a struggle. I couldn't keep this simple little ecosystem healthy. If only I knew more. Thought about the great outdoors (we know so little about) - that 4 billion-year experiment. Humbling. So many life-forms to sustain, so much that has to be balanced. Despite our abuse, we take it for granted. That good fortune may not persist.
