"new music" is too derivative of old music. I'm into EDM. There is a techno revival right now. The problem is that new techno tracks sound exactly the same way as techno track 20/30 years ago. Why should I even bother listening to these new tracks at first place when they just copy what was done before? Before, big labels could rely on ignorance to sell something old as "fresh". It doesn't work today when it's really easy to distribute and share old music. EDM is in need for innovation, yet rely heavily on nostalgia. It's not going to help younger artists if they don't invent something of their own.
