Yes, and "if Captain Sully had been flying an Airbus he would have crashed because they don't allow manual control". The objective is to reduce the total number of crashes, even if that means that you feel like you have less control of when you do crash.
- nobody314159 15y agoCapt Sully was flying an airbus and the NTSB have credited it with maintaining airspeed automatically allowing a safe landing. Although they did credit Sully with starting the APU to allow the full airbus systems to continue operating rather than the more manual emergency only mode you have with the RAT.
