- mradmin 5y agoLet's not forget about http://prototypejs.org/ http://prototypejs.org/ & http://script.aculo.us/ http://script.aculo.us/ for modern Web 2.O
- xivzgrev 5y agoYea that one surprised me. Everything else was pretty spot on…but she needs to add a guestbook
- sirmarksalot 5y agoAnd a hit counter
- alex_suzuki 5y agowebrings, anyone?
- amatecha 5y agoonce I actually add a bit more content to my site I'm planning to add my site to the merveilles/XXIIVV webring! https://webring.xxiivv.com/ https://webring.xxiivv.com/ :)
- prox 5y agoI am off to buy a .party domain haha.
- tdeck 5y agoAmazingly the Homebrew CPU webring is still... Pretty good! The only extant webring I can think of. https://www.homebrewcpuring.org/ https://www.homebrewcpuring.org/
- ryan-allen 5y agoI miss webrings, mostly because I was too young to ever code one :)
- dheera 5y agoand a world population counter that looks like the hit counter and java applets for each navigation link button that have a gradient in the background when you hover over them
- PikachuEXE 5y agoI still use jQuery but https://umbrellajs.com https://umbrellajs.com too. And native DOM API as well.
- enahs-sf 5y agoFetch is great. I never understood the need for installing axios when fetch works fine. I remember the good old days of XMLHttpRequest.
- croon 5y agoI think the point wasn't that jquery was old, but it was way too new for the rest of the page. Everything on it screams mid 90s, and then jquery which is a good 10 years later.
- tdeck 5y agoAgreed, jQuery felt like an anachronism given the style of that web page. At most I'd expect a "remember DHTML?"
