If you believe that people should NOT be evicted for non-payment, that housing is a human right, and that our social safety net should be strong enough to support these people in need, then its obvious this is a crisis.
- s1artibartfast 5y agoEven then, crisis is hyperbolic, given evictions have been standard practice for centuries. Crisis: An unstable or crucial time or state of affairs in which a decisive change is impending especially : one with the distinct possibility of a highly undesirable outcome. Assuming housing is a human right, which I disagree with, surely people are not entitled to any house of their choosing. You would have to separate those forced to downsize from those actually leading to homelessness.
