American Here... I have a major problem with calling the IRS a "social service", taxing authority is not a social service.

- gumby 5y agoWhy not? It’s part of the system of providing services (some direct, like EBT; some indirect, like roads and pollution regulation) that we elect governments to do behalf.

- whakim 5y agoThe IRS is a massive social service, because much of US fiscal policy gets done through the tax code via ever-more-complicated tax credits and deductions.
