The Doomsday clock is, in my opinion, a concept so ridiculously abstract that it is essentially nothing but useless fearmongering. Moreover, as far as I can tell it is yet another thing that has been corrupted by our modern hysterical politics. Apparently, right now is the closest humanity has EVER been to midnight. We are right now closer to destruction than we were during the Cuban Missile Crisis, or the end of the Cold War, or the Korean war where US troops were literally fighting against Chinese troops. Why are we in so much danger? Oh, because of Trump, fake news, and the "erosion of the existing international order". What a bunch of ridiculous nonsense.
