I've heard Google is working on a new cookie-less version of GA just like plausible and other privacy-focused GA alternatives. Wondering if this cookie-less GA would still come under the ban.
- geewee 5y agoIt almost certainly would. This isn't about cookies, this is about sending PII (which IP's are) to GA. I have a hard time imagining some safeguards that'll allow you to use GA, without ever hitting a GA server.
- Nextgrid 5y agoGDPR is about sharing personal data and tracking users. It doesn’t matter if it’s done via cookies or some other way.
