What are solid european alternatives?

- schleck8 5y agoFor servers, there is countless providers. Not nearly as big as the hyperscalers, but certainly sufficient. Netcup, xTom, Hetzner, OVH, Scaleway just off the top of my head
- sschueller 5y agoCo-locate run your own hardware, Hetzner, Exoscale etc. There are many alternatives just not as large as Amazon. Many ISPs also offer DDoS protection.
- ognarb 5y agoNextcloud would be a solid European alternative for office365. It's a file sync, groupware, office and xhat solution all in one. It's open source, self hostable and has enterprise support. Disclaimer: I work at Nextcloud so I'm a bit biased
- msh 5y agoIts not a managed service so its not a direct alternative.
- catfishx 5y agoYes it is, but you have to pay for it https://nextcloud.com/trial/ https://nextcloud.com/trial/
- msh 5y agoIt sounds pretty hostile to end users: Please do not email us from private mail addresses like gmail, gmx and the like. We only provide a trial to businesses > 50 employees. As a small business or private user, we recommend you simply try our demo or talk to one of our partners.
- Tmpod 5y agoThere are managed hosts serving NextCloud though
- ciex 5y agoThere's [lots of options](https://nextcloud.com/partners/ https://nextcloud.com/partners/) for using Nextcloud as a managed service.
- stef25 5y agoMS is completely entrenched in so many EU companies that this will never happen. You can't even get people that need a simple word processor or spreadsheet to use LibreOffice.
- aaomidi 5y agoMS will probably make a EU cloud product like they've done for a bunch of other countries and govt entities.
- synchrone 5y agohttps://www.onlyoffice.com/saas.aspx https://www.onlyoffice.com/saas.aspx - very decent compatibility with Office and speed; is a European company; much of the functionality is open source.

- spaniard89277 5y agoThey are using Google Analytics and Tag Manager.
- blueflow 5y agoThe US-style "depending on cloud services for everything" is generally frowned upon in the companies i work with (germany). I see much self-hosting.
