How Bad Is QWERTY, Really? A Review of the Literature
- bediger4000 5y ago"Bad" here is "makes your wrists and carpal tunnels hurt", not "slows you down and causes tons of errors". Thankfully, this article glosses over the terrible paper, "Fable of the Keys" by Leibowitz and Margolis, because the author couldn't find a copy. That's because this "classic" of ergonomics was published in "The Journal of Law and Economics", not any human-computer interface, or any other kind of kind of human interface journal. It's not a good paper from most standpoints, consisting mainly of a literature review, and a critique of Dvorak's (the human) experimental methods. The authors also appear to have started with a conclusion, and worked backwards to the article. Not recommended.
