I think OP means that the train derailed, then people robbed it while it was stuck and couldn't flee. I don't think the derailment caused all that crap to fly

I think OP means that the train derailed, then people robbed it while it was stuck and couldn't flee. I don't think the derailment caused all that crap to fly out of the train. Nor do I think that one train got looted, and the debris derailed the following train.
