That's a bit baffling. It seems like there are at least tens and probably hundreds of millions of people who play flash games every day (Zynga being rather happy about that). They may not be power users but they are everyday consumers. A lot of that isn't going to be casually rewritten into HTML/JS.

- dangrossman 15y agoThose people will quickly learn to use the "Use Desktop View" button where their plugins still live.
- justincormack 15y agoUnless they are on an ARM tablet in which case there is no option.
- mappu 15y agoThere have been several videos showing the classic interface on ARM tablets.
- justincormack 15y agoHmm, there have also been statements that the classic Windows APIs are not going to ship on ARM. My guess is that it is possible, but it wont ship as they wont be able to support legacy software anyway, as there is no instruction set emulation. Guessing though, as I cant find a clear source...
- dangrossman 15y agoThere's Flash on plenty of ARM tablets and phones right now. Firefox and Chrome could ship ARM versions with Flash for Windows 8 on ARM too.
- lubos 15y agoor could they install Metro-style Firefox and Chrome? I mean it's not like there is a technical constrain why flash plugins are not supported.

- ryannielsen 15y agoAny companies producing Flash games are probably already aggressively porting to things other than Flash – either HTML5 or native – to target today's fastest growing gaming platforms, which don't support Flash.
- watty 15y agoThe 48-hour gaming competition had very few JS and many Flash games. The main goal of Zygna is to create a game that's as accessible as possible (penetratrion). Right now, Flash provides the highest penetration.
