I once had a girl ask me if she looked Indian. I said no, she got pissed off, and it was quite a while before I realized she didn't mean "from India." Turned out she was from Whitehorse, "full blooded Indian" she said. First Nations is what they say on the CBC, but "Indian" hasn't been stamped out completely.
