Not a botanist, but fiddlehead ferns come to mind as a candidate.
- tejtm 5y agomaybe not the safest before we got fire and cooking some ferns have a carcinogen that can be denatured with enough heat
- bcherny 5y agoSeems like it's 55M years old, so on the younger end of the list.
