Not clear is why it took so long for charges? Crash in Dec 29, 2019, charges in October 2021, almost two years...is this Tesla holding up data?
- killingtime74 5y agoI think it’s the prosecution gathering evidence and deciding on whether to charge and what with. Justice system is slow
- Tuna-Fish 5y agoThere is nothing uncommon about this. There are many jurisdictions in the USA where charges for most crimes other than very serious stuff like murder are usually raised only just before the statute of limitations runs out.
- plorkyeran 5y agoThe "speedy" part of the sixth amendment is interpreted very loosely.
- Sohcahtoa82 5y agoThe "speedy" part was to prevent the government from locking people up indefinitely while awaiting a trial that was never going to happen.
