I don't like that they're sick, but I do like that sick workers are calling out. Ignoring the inherent effect of limited amounts of sick time that don't correspond in any way to how much you might get sick, there's a lot of pressure in some industries to still come in to work even if you're sick -- particularly, perversely, in some high-contact industries like nursing and food service. This has obvious negative consequences.
