Me & my wife are using onedrive to send everything to the cloud (basic plan). Once we're close to filling up available storage, I turn on my local server which downloads it into its RAID disks (then I turn it off afterwards). I wipe my & my wife's onedrives and we repeat the process. Once a year, usually around Christmas, we're sitting together and choosing photos that we want to print and put into family album.
