We've been building ente[1] as an e2ee alternative to Google Photos. Posterity is something we've been thinking deeply about. Our infrastructure is designed to support successors, similar to GitHub[2]. But since cloud storage is expensive, successors will have to choose between exporting a local copy[3] or paying for the newly accumulated data. We are still designing this "feature". If you think we can do better, please let me know.
