Sometimes it's a trick to see if you're there so if you don't respond to the following question with similar speed, the sender (incorrectly?) assumes something's up
- teekert 5y agoIndeed! I say hello to our helpdesk all the time to make sure someone is there to answer before it times out :p
- sdflhasjd 5y agoPrecisely why I never respond to the initial "Hello" :p It's particularly annoying when non-technical managers will ask "quick" questions that actually take a long time to answer.
