I use a NAS and cloud storage. I recently got a new Synology NAS and, since it supports Docker, it’s straightforward to run nearly whatever software you want. They have a decent enough Photos app for browsing / sharing photos. For offsite backup, I send to B2 which is ridiculously cheap, but I pay for, so I’m not the product. I haven’t put Cloudflare in front of it, but that’s something extra folks do.
