Show HN: Use Explain Code App to Write SQL
Explain Code App works with SQL, a popular language for querying databases. You can tell Explain Code App what you want in plain language, and the app will generate the matching SQL code for you.

- MattGaiser 5y ago1. I want at least photos of a demo before I sign up or ideally a very simple toolbox for me to paste maybe 10 lines of code in and get an explanation. But still curious, so signing up anyway. 2. Ublock Origin seems to break your sign up page. 3. Have a warning that it is slow. Otherwise, this would be great to use for SQL.
- allynjalford 5y agoThank you for the feedback Matt. I'll check everything out now.
- allynjalford 5y agoI added a page just for this tool. https://www.explaincode.app/sql https://www.explaincode.app/sql Cheers.
- alexvoda 5y agoI can understand why it works the way it does, but JOINS!!! At this point this tool appears to be very basic. Who is the target audience?
- alexvoda 5y agoAt this point a visual query builder (like in Access, SSMS, DbForge and plenty of other tools) is more capable.
- allynjalford 5y agoSuch editors don't allow someone to create an SQL statement from pure text.
- alexvoda 5y agoOk, let me rephrase, who is the person that has enough knowledge of the about the internals of the database (the names of tables and columns and how they relate to eachother) yet does not have sufficient SQL knowledge to construct basic queries nor willingness or knowledge to use a visual query builder? Is this meant for SQL query construction via chatbot? A person interfacing entirely through voice? Who wants to create basic SQL statements from English?
