“ESG” is a cloaking shield adopted by mega corps in the wake of the occupy movement. By adopting an endless stream of HR policies, socially conscious messaging and relentless social media virtue signaling, big corps have convinced people that they “care” …. Care about what exactly? These are first and foremost profit-seeking entities (nothing wrong with that btw) and the notion that they care about environmental/social/governance beyond a thinly veiled marketing ploy fails under scrutiny. It’s actually brilliant. And it’s been working for a decade.
