The PinePhone Pro brings upgraded hardware to the Linux phone
- mdp2021 5y agoRemovable battery (as it should be). It would be quite desirable to also have the option of a bigger battery (in size and capacity), as we have on other models. It is not clear how good this product is in power consumption. - digisign 5y agoThe big problem with the pinephone is not the hardware, unfortunately.
- mdp2021 5y agoSo what is it? Development? Compatibility with current Desktop Linux software stack? I assume that telephony oriented software - calling and messaging - (extra with respect to usual OS use) works. One strange thing: in a video I saw an apparently broken Firefox: it did not reflow text (as opposed to a normal desktop FF). This seems to indicate that the project also ships customized software with possibly questionable functionalities or implementation. (I noticed that because it would be nice to be able to use an internet browser on a mobile device... I do not know if new applications emerged in the past few years: with the ones I selected on Android when I needed, visualization was inherently broken and only quick information retrieval was possible, not reading.)
