  I am reading “Hard Drive” about Bill Gates and Microsoft and it goes into detail about how Paul Allen and Bill Gates wrote this version of BASIC.

    It's a really good book. But does anyone know of any more up-to-date high quality biography of Bill Gates including his time leading Microsoft in the late '90s through the trial?

  A copy of one of the source code of one the first versions apparently can be found in the Pusey library at Harvard (https://www.theregister.com/2001/05/13/raiders_of_the_lost_altair/ https://www.theregister.com/2001/05/13/raiders_of_the_lost_a...). It would be interesting to compare that with this version (both code and comments)
