I did make an explicit conjecture that was based on hard facts but then you made a statement out of thin air with nothing to back it up.
> It's also a request made in bad faith because everything we know about that program is from the government which you clearly don't trust so any citation I offer will be striked down as "from the gov".
That's not what bad faith is. And then you're making a strawman about trust which I didn't even make or even mentionned.
> The article is about a centralized system, that was already decried by critics, in Germany. The Quebec "VaxiCode" app is not used for tracking, only to provide an easy way to give proof of vaccination and was not abused in any way.
I never mentioned anything about tracking.
> Canada's Covid Alert app is not centralized and does not give any information to the government. The code is even on GitHub.
Our government was just caught collecting "de-identified" location data (which is bullshit given location easily translates into address of residence and work) https://globalnews.ca/news/8503895/watchdog-probing-officials-cell-location-data/ https://globalnews.ca/news/8503895/watchdog-probing-official...
Canada admitted they spied

"And now I just received a recruitment pamphlet from the government for a "citizen digital identity" which will be used on smart phones. Am I the only one seeing a pattern here?" This is the conjecture, you assume that "citizen digital identity" is part of a wider trend or pattern and not simply a modernization effort. Your comment was made under a post about government overreach using covid tracking apps. You can't just say I am building a strawman because you didn't explicitly write "CDI will be used for tracking". It is still very much the implication of your comment. > I never mentioned anything about tracking. Canada admitted they spied This is so far removed from CDI that I don't understand why you think this is relevant... Yes Canada is also part of the five eyes and violates the rights of its citizens often, that's not what we are discussing at all.
