This didn’t go in the direction I was expecting, even as pleasant a read as it was. I love drinking alone, with strict moderation. Once a week. Never to excess. Primarily, it’s to enjoy the drink itself, undistracted by the socialization normally inherent in imbibing. There are many fine beers at my local liquor store that I’d never find at a bar! There is perhaps an element of drifting off into a world of drunken introspection like the article describes, but such is far further down the path than I would go myself.
