This comes off as venting/entitlement. I feel like I'm increasingly seeing these articles from high income families that are now frustrated that the things they took for granted (day care, schools, etc) now are more limited. There are families who home school their children, have stay at home parents, there are children who are chronically ill outside of COVID and that's a hell of a lot worse than 10 days quarantine. What this author is venting about is already the reality for many, many parents for a long time and you don't see them writing articles like this.
If you're signing up for parenthood, you're signing up for the world you introduce your child to. You're signing up for your child becoming sick, or even dying. You're signing up for your children being exposed to war, famine, climate change, and so on.
That doesn't mean that this author's suffering is invalid but too many people have children hastily without thinking of what that really entails and what you are really signing up for.
