- UltraViolence 5y agoThe biggest question is "Why?." AFAIK very few cargo planes have ever been shot down by a MANPADS IR-homing missile. I still remember this Airbus A300 out of Iraq that got hit by one and lost all hydraulics but still managed to land safely.
- killingtime74 5y agoPerhaps the laser is cheap and the loss of a plane is expensive? I guess it’s purely defensive it’s not like they are firing back
