Odd to see that HN will not tolerate any evidence that the virus may have been designed in a lab.

- erichocean 5y agoNot really, the opposite would be true—with the exact same evidence—if it was the government's position that the virus was made in a lab. Then you'd have Substack's talking about how the virus could have been naturally occurring, that there's no reason it had to be made in a lab, that it's just the government blaming China, etc. I wish there was a word for beliefs that supposedly make use of evidence, but can easily use the exact same evidence to argue for the polar opposite belief.
