I'm not leaving my job yet, but strongly thinking about doing it in the near future. The reason is simple: I am not employable. I mean that in a good way. I hate being an employee. I hate having to go by the rules that other people make up even though I strongly disagree with. I hate being in an industry that does not share my engineering values. So to that end, I voted "company culture" on this pool. More importantly, I want to create things of value. All the jobs I've worked so far have been bullshit jobs. The thing I'm paid to make ultimately does not provide any real value to society - sometimes it provides negative value. And, I want to set an example to my children: don't be an employee, and don't strive to be one.
