- celticninja 5y ago"we've stopped them, no we wont extradite them or charge them locally" Putin has told them to lay low for a while or change their handles, this doesn't stop the group or the software from operating.

- celticninja 5y agoI'm not asking for deportation to USA. I don't think anyone should be extradited to the USA given its legal system is stacked against the alleged. But trusting local law enforcement and judicial process in Russia is a fools errand.

- benwills 5y agoI had the same thought and it took me a minute to figure out. It's two separate denominations: $600,000 USD and 500,000 Euro.
- bigodbiel 5y agoWonder how does this reflects on the ongoing Russia-US NATO talks that just wrapped up. Moscow is waiting an official letter from the WH where Russia’s “security concerns” are addressed. Even if Washington expected de-escalation on the Russian-Ukrainian border, this does seem like a good gesture token.

- mrandish 5y agoThis group clearly wasn't cutting in the right people at a high-enough government level. In Russia, the more you make, legally or illegally, the more you have to pay in bribes. Becoming a political nuisance by attracting international attention from other major governments can increase the amounts substantially.
