No one is arguing for just disbanding the police and making no other changes to compensate — that's a strawman.
- ameister14 5y agoHe didn't suggest that - he suggested in part that you think about what changes would be needed to compensate
- marcellus23 5y agoAre you sure? I can't see how to get that impression from what he wrote. The fact that his own opinion is that society would be "far worse off" also indicates he's not coming at this from a Socratic position of unbiased truthfinding.
- ncmncm 5y agoExactly. Maybe start by disarming the police. Then, start recruiting police from social worker training programs.
